Hello MR. Seay, I just wanted to say I love the song you wrote Willie's Drunk and Nellie's Dyin. They were my aunt and uncle, he was my grandfathers brother. As long as I can remember Aunt Nellie was sick, she passed away in early 80s and Uncle Will passed in the early 90s. Thank you for writing this song about them, we listen to it all the time.
I really LOVE this song when I first heard the song I was with my father and he then told me that it was recorded about my family members and that Johnny Seay really did know then at first I thought my dad was just saying that I knew that I had family members with the last name York so I went home and talked to my Great Uncle and he then told me that it was true and told me stories about Willie and Nellie York... I really wanna thank Johnny Seay for making this song it means alot to hear about my family i never got to meet...
Thanks so much for posting this video. I first heard this song on XM Radio about 6 yrs. ago. With a little research I was soon re-aquainted with Johnny's music after 30 yrs. and have been enjoying it ever since. I feel a strong kinship to Johnny's life story, and also to the Willie York story.
